People think the cards are handy, easier to use and so on, but not much good if there is a computer failure, so we must keep letting the banks and the governments know that we still want cash to be a strong medium of payment.

I’m 4th generation Irish and according to my dna, my Irish/British heritage dates back to at least 1400s, but as as a female the maternal line is historically limited … That said the surnames of my ancestors are according to latest research is very significant… The following are the family/ clan Anglicised surnames of some of my great and great great grandparents who had emigrated to America by the late 1870s, most settled in the western Pennsylvania and Appalachia areas in America, this is where the Scot’s irish are most heavily concentrated and which according to dna research are of the same R1b3 family that primarily inhabited western Northern Ireland and western Northern Scotland and Wales( Britain) My dad was an OConnor and my mum was a Conroy Their elders names were Baker, Hart, Roberts, Marren Gallagher, Milton Armstrong, Morris Austen, Murtha Campbell, Kane Feely, Haney, Calan and McClusky My great grandfather was Patrick O’Connor he was a merchant marine, his dad and all before him were dairy farmers from county Cavan on my mums side the Conroys were mostly from Galway down to Kerry, and had also emigrated in late 1870s… Im sure I’ve hundreds of cousins still in Ireland because I was contacted a couple years ago by a cousin on my mums side from Tubbercurry who had gotten her dna results and was given a list of over a hundred cousins residing in America , she invited me to come meet her and I did so met up with her and her family, we had an all nighter singing and telling stories a couple years ago… it was like we’d known each other forever…surreal… Unfortunately I’m still in south west Pennsylvania

As regards electric cars, please listen to Joe Duffy programme broadcast last Friday. A lady explained what happened regarding her fuel cell in her Nissan electric vehicle. Nissan wanted over 5,000 euros to fix. Electric vehicles are obsolescent already.
